The County Fair

Ahh....the sights and smells of the County Fair. We got the whole family in and got to ride the midway rides for an hour, all for the low, low price of showing our church bulletin. The kids pretended to be farmers and fed chickens, milked cows, planted corn, picked vegetables, then sold the stuff at the farmer's market. After selling their goods, they got make-believe money that they could spend on ice cream. I think everyone had a great time in spite of the fierce heat.

Zoo After Hours

We recently got a membership to the Nashville Zoo and enjoyed our first after hours 'Member Night'. Some of the exhibits were open late with zookeepers giving educational talks and demonstrations. The animals were much more lively than they are on a normal 90+ degree day!! Talia and Renata made a new friend in the African Elephant Savannah!

My Next Project

I've been itching to get another pinball machine to restore and I found one tonight. It's a Bally "Capt. Fantastic" from 1976. I've had my eye out for one for a while, since I recall pumping it with quarters in my younger days. You can look at a few of our pins from past and present here, showing some before and after photos.

Science!

Took a trip Sunday to the Adventure Science Center with Renata's 3rd grade teacher, Jon Stephenson. Lot's of fun learning about microbes and germs, good yucky stuff! Victor was particularly facinated by this thing.
